1. OpenGroupware.org Notes

1.1. English Translation Standards

The following are proposed standards for updating the English translation of OpenGroupware.org.

  1. Use American English spellings.

  2. Use title case for all buttons

    1. First letter of first and last word is always captialized

    2. All words are capitalized except:

      1. Prepositions (of, with)

      2. Articles (a, an, the)

  3. The following are the designated phrases:

    1. Surname

    2. Mail is always singular

1.1.1. Standardization Process

  1. Ideally, each file will be reviewed by at least two people. Let us maintain a list of initials somewhere and at the beginning of every file, on the line following the CVSID, let us include the initials of the reviewers and the dates that the review was completed. Use ISO format for dates (YYYY-MM-DD), use {{//}} comments and use the following form, sorted in descending order by date (newest on top):

    // Reviewed YYYY-MM-DD by Me <me@example.com>

  2. Patches will likely be as big as the file itself, so let's update whole files at a time

1.2. Out of Date Section

All of this stuff is probably out of date; beware.

My target platform is Red Hat Linux 7.3 and eventually Red Hat Advanced Server. I am currently working with source RPMs from http://people.redhat.com/harald/ogo/ made by harald at Red Hat. The binaries I are built at http://ftp.nakedape.cc/nakedape/rh73/opengroupware.

I performed the setup following the [WWW]Unofficial RH9 HOWTO. The HOWTO was mostly correct, after accounting for the fact that the RH9 binaries installed in /usr/lib/opengroupware instead of /opt/opengroupware. Here are a few differences that were not obivous:
